The Yellow House Hotel, surrounded by the rolling farmlands of rural Berks County, Pennsylvania, provides a delightful departure from the everyday… fine dining and comfortable overnight accommodations await you.

The Yellow House Hotel, built in 1801 at the intersection of Routes 662 and 562 in the scenic Oley Valley, originally served as a stagecoach stop and country store for travelers between Reading and Philadelphia.  Since then, the Yellow House Hotel has evolved into a restaurant and hotel with a reputation for its delectable bill of fare and pleasing, comfortable atmosphere.  The influence of the Yellow House Hotel on the surrounding area is evidenced by the local hamlet which bears the name of Yellow House.  The hotel has played an integral part in the local history, housing a general store, the village switchboard and a post office.  While the ownership of the Yellow House Hotel has changed hands over the years more than 25 times, the hotel has remained a charming focal point of the Oley Valley, both inside and out.

The inn consists of five bedrooms on the second floor for overnight accommodations.  A second floor dining room is available to our guests and may be reserved for holidays and small gatherings.  The restaurant includes three separate dining rooms and a pub/tavern area for your dining pleasure.

A variety of seafood, steak and poultry entrées grace the menu at Yellow House Hotel, served with seasonal accompaniments from the rich bounty of the Oley Valley. Taste the specialty of the house, the Barbecued Spare Ribs, prepared on the grill or the Seafood Sizzler serving up shrimp, scallops and a jumbo lump crab cake prepared in a sherry flavored butter sauce. Hearty fresh soups, tantalizing appetizers and homemade desserts and pastries compliment the dining experience in any of three tastefully decorated dining rooms. The candlelit colonial room features a walk-in fireplace and can be reserved for intimate gatherings. The front dining room sparkles with charm reminiscent of the Victorian era and the largest dining room, in Williamsburg décor, provides spacious accommodations for larger occasions. The tavern, sporting a “hunt” theme is a great beginning or ending to any get together and is also available for dining. In addition to the regular menu, the tavern features a unique selection of foods prepared specifically for the more casual appetite. Yellow House Hotel also offers a variety of domestic and imported beers and ales and a tasteful selection of wines by the glass, carafe or bottle.

“Fine dining in PA country. Lovely, impressive menu, no outdoor dining that I’ve seen. I highly recommend this place. It’s been a favorite for years.”
